Laos Food
In order to get exposure to Laos cuisine, I had tried a variety of foods in this trip. Here are some dishes that I explored.
Number One: Som Tum / Papaya Salad
My Rating: 5 Stars
The best papaya salad (Tam Mak Hoong / Som Tum) in Luang prabang is made by Pa’ Tim. Her shop is located in front of Wat Nong, Kounxoa Road. This papaya salad stand is very popoular among laos people. It’s also highly recommend in Thai guidebooks for one that Thai people must try. The owner sales only papaya salad and cucumber salad. I really want to come back Luang prabang and order more. :)
Best of Luang Prabang, my favorite dish :) |

Location: Sisavangvong Road, Luang PrabangIt was a busy day of the restaurant when we had a dinner. Most of tables were fully booked so that I think their food must be really good. Every dishes we ordered were cooked so well. However, our drinks (Tequila Sunrise and Lemon Margarita) and the Black Forest Cake were just ok.

Traditional Lao Coffee & Chinese Dounuts |
My Rating: 3.5 Stars (only for desert)
We came here to make two reservations for Tamarind Cooking Class which was apparently an excellent class and I experienced a lot how to cook Laos food. However, I don't know if the pumkin custard we ordered didn't cook well or I was too picky about desert.
